Saturday the 12th of August Robertstown oval swaps the muddy football boots for dusty rally tyres as the 2017 Copyworld Walky 100 brings motorsport action back to the area. With a stunning 32 year history in the current format and its roots based back to the Classic Wally 500 of the 1970’s the event is a critical part of the MRF Tyres South Australian Rally Championship (SARC). The event is being prompted by the Walkerville All Cars Club.

This year 150km of the districts more challenging road will temporarily become race tracks for the day. Rally drivers call this “Special Stage rallying” the driver who completes all stages with in the shortest time wins. In-between the special stages are transport stages. These sections are travels at normal road speeds and a great opportunity see and photograph the cars when they are not all ablur.

One of the first pace noted events in the country Walky 100 has made it attractive to some of the best rally drivers in the country. The last couple of years have seen visiting drivers from interstate using this round, and its fast technical roads, to gain great experience to further their motor sport careers.
