Back in May 2005 Qantas named one of it's new 737-800 aircraft after the town of Eudunda.

The Herriman family Peter, Jenny, Luke & Toby went to pick up Peter's brother Dean from the new Adelaide International Airport and on realizing he was coming in on Qantas, Peter said to the boys to start looking at the names on the planes.

Peter said
"When Dean arrived from Darwin on EUDUNDA we just couldn't believe it. Dean didn't actually know the planes had been named until we pointed it out. When he entered the plane in Darwin he did not see the front of the nose.

We think he is probably the first EX - Eudunda person to have the Qantas Eudunda plane bring a local home. I can tell you, there was a big scramble for a camera".

Dean came home to visit his parents, Frank & Gladys Herriman, who still live in Eudunda, and to visit with other relatives and friends  who live in SA. He was lucky enough to get a visit from his old workmate and friends who have retired to Swan Hill.

We look forward to VH-VYD (Eudunda) bringing many more Eudunda people home.

PS. Dean flew home on the Qantas plane called Oodnadatta

Let us know if you get a chance to fly on Eudunda.
